The Jackal Squadron's Tom Curda Award

Tom was an original member of the Jackal Squadron during its creation in 2001. He served as a the list administrator and was known for his gentle manner, his friendly and positive approach to all, and his genuine interest in scale modeling. Tom passed away in 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The Jackal Squadron wishes to commemorate Tom with an annual award in his name as a way to recognize those individuals who do good things for all of us in the modeling community, very much in keeping with Tom's personality and actions.

The Tom Curda Award is an annual honor bestowed on the person who, in the opinion of the members of the Jackal Squadron, has the most positive impact on the hobby of scale modeling. The honor conveys nothing other than the gratitude of some very passionate modelers who wish to publicly recognize and thank the winner for making our hobby a better and more enjoyable pastime.
